What made you interested in Actuarial Science?
I have always enjoyed mathematics, science, and problem solving. When looking for a career, I initially thought of engineering, but as I researched and learned more about an Actuarial Science career, I really became excited about the opportunities this field has to offer.

What are some activities you enjoy outside of ASC?
I enjoy cheering on our Fighting Illini at football and basketball games. I also like to go out and explore the campus and nearby areas with my friends. I like to work out as much as possible at the ARC. This relieves stress and helps me with my goal of running a marathon one day.

Who has influenced you most in life?
My sister, Erin, has has been the greatest influence in my life. I am so grateful to have her as a role model. My sister graduated from the University of Illinois in 2016 and now is pursuing a Doctoral Degree at Northwestern University; she will graduate this spring. She has demonstrated that with hard work, academic excellence, and perseverance you can accomplish your goals.

Favorite Movie/book?
My favorite movie/book is Unbroken. This true story exhibits many traits that I strive for. The main character shows strength and perseverance through his time stranded on boat to the gruesome treatment he receives when he is captured by the enemy. His strength and willingness to never give up stay with me on a daily basis. If he never gave up with everything he went through then I have no excuse.

What are some of your future goals that you hope to achieve in life?

1. Have as many friends as possible. You can never have enough friends.

2. I want to travel the world either studying abroad or sometime later in life.

3. Helping people by sharing knowledge and/or volunteering my time.

4. Make an impact and a difference in everything I do.
